MEDEL’s ICT2e UPS family, all with double conversion on-line technology (VFI-111), represents the ideal solution for protecting critical loads such as small data centers or offices, auxiliary or emergency systems or, in general, all those applications that require power continuity with medium power loads. Designed to be extremely robust and reliable even in continuous use at maximum loads, it provides a perfectly sinusoidal and stable output power supply, thanks to the DSP control which also allows it to have no distortion at input and total control over operation of the system.

All single-phase systems are equipped with an internal battery that ensures standard autonomy, sufficient for general applications; for three-phase systems, and in general to increase autonomy, modular battery parks are available that are easy and quick to install. If then the need is to reduce recharge times, or apply battery parks for particularly long autonomies, it is possible to equip all the systems of the ICT2e family with an auxiliary battery charger.

The control and settings of the system parameters can be performed through the simple and intuitive front control panel. Furthermore, there is a standard USB communication port and a module expansion slot (SNMP / WEB for LAN / Ethernet connection, AS400 card, RS232). All systems are equipped with an EPO contact (Emergency Power Off) for maximum operational safety.

The UPSs of the MDP family have been designed to guarantee the highest performance and at the same time absolute reliability; reliability that translates into low maintenance costs and failure rates.

All arranged for three-phase input and output, the lower power units can be requested with single-phase output, in which case the input can also be connected to a single-phase source. This feature makes this family extremely versatile and suitable for any system requirement.

Both the inverter and the rectifier use the most modern IGBT technology allowing, the first to have a perfectly sinusoidal voltage output, without interference and extremely stable, the second an input power factor (cosf) close to or equal to 1 and a practically cancellable THD%, thanks to the filters that can be installed on the machine.

The technology used has made it possible to obtain extremely compact UPSs and a wide range of power also thanks to the possibility of connecting up to 8 machines in parallel, even of different powers.

It is possible to extend the autonomy thanks to external cabinets and, if necessary, the use of auxiliary battery chargers. Various communication interfaces are available: SNMP / WEB, AS400, RS232. To control the UPS, through these interfaces, are available a dedicated software and an intelligent load shedding system.

The UPSs of the MDI family represent the top of the range in terms of unit power. They are available in sizes from 100kVA to 400kVA and in three versions, with 6-pulse thyristor rectifier (hexafase) or 12-pulse (twelve-phase), with galvanic separation, or IGBT with sinusoidal absorption.

Thanks to the possibility of connecting up to 8 units in parallel, the total power obtainable reaches 1.600kVA, or, in a redundant N + 1 configuration, it is possible to have “fault tolerant” systems.

The battery is always housed in external modular cabinets, and for the most powerful systems single-element accumulator parks can be provided, distributed on shelves (typically housed in dedicated rooms).

Various communication interfaces are available: SNMP / WEB, AS400, RS232. To control the UPS through these interfaces, control software and an intelligent load shedding system are available.

The MPR was created to cover the need for redundant systems in critical applications, such as data centers, hospitals, barracks, security systems and in general all applications where the power supply can never be interrupted. It is a modular system with three-phase input and output. Each module is made in rack 19″, a power of 15kVA, a DSP control, double conversion technology and the possibility of redundant configuration.

Three types of cabinet MPR30, MPR60 and MPR120 are available, which can house a maximum of 2, 4 and 8 modules respectively.

The modules, each of 15kVA, dynamically divide the load, and can be activated, deactivated, replaced or added in an extremely simple, fast and above all “hot” manner, without interrupting either the load supply or the protection function (UPS) proper of the system.

Each module consists of a complete UPS and the parallel management logic is distributed between them, this means that the whole system, unlike others, has no critical point, such as a central supervision unit.

The general display has the function of showing the operation of the system, any alarms as well as allowing the basic settings of the system. The standard interfaces with the outside are represented by the usual RS232 serial port, a RS485, and the slot for inserting optional cards (AS400 / dry contacts, LAN / SNMP, Modbus).
